Girls are one and-a-half times more likely to die before the age of five than their brothers and are twice as likely to be malnourished. 55.8% boys have completed secondary education compared to 44.1%. Violence towards women based on allegations of witch craft is also increasing. Victims of witch hunting experience extreme humiliation, physical and sexual violence, damage to property and in some cases loss of life. Ninety-three percent of women aged 15-49 do not own a house and 90% do not own any land.
